The Apple Self Service Repair Program will let you fix your iPhone yourself, but will it come to India?

Apple has long been a target for repair-to-repair advocates due to its practice of locking down its software so that parts can be encoded into a specific device. Some attempted repairs – such as replacing the broken original screen with a third-party one – have left the phone unusable.

Cupertino-Based Giants Apple has launched its Self Service Repair program that allows Apple users to purchase genuine Apple device parts and tools to fix their smartphones. According to Apple’s Self-Service Repair Program, users can choose to either repair their Apple products themselves or refer them to a local technician for repair. Apple has so far restricted anyone other than the company’s authorized technicians from repairing its devices.

Now, not all Apple products are part of this Apple self-service repair program. Apple will launch an online store for its self-service repairs early next year.
