Congress MLA Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria The trial court had convicted a 45-year-old case of kidnapping a woman to compel her to marry and the high court quashed her imprisonment and fine.
Meanwhile, 87 (74%) MLAs are crorepatis, up from 95 (81%) in the previous term. These crorepatis include 63 from AAP, 17 from Congress, three from SAD, two from BJP and one from BSP.
AAP’s Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh is the richest with a net worth of Rs 238 crore, second only to Rana GurjitSingh (Congress) with assets of Rs 125 crore and Aman Arora (AAP) with assets of Rs 95 crore. Rana Gurjit has a maximum liability of Rs 125 crore, his son Rs 17.97 crore and Arora Rs 22.88 crore. Rana Inder Pratap Singh and Arora also have the highest liability.
