Speaking to ANI on the cabinet reshuffle, Laxman said, “In many ways this cabinet is historic, for the first time 70 years after independence, BC communities have got adequate representation. He said that the fact that 27 ministers in the Union Cabinet are from OBC category shows the intention of the government to empower OBCs.
He further said that the cabinet aims at geographical and social inclusion, as there is adequate representation of SCs, STs and women across India to map regional imbalances.
He also said that the present cabinet is historic not only for its social inclusion but also for the fact that it is the youngest cabinet after independence.
He said, “Many governments have used the names of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Ambedkar to speak for the marginalized sections, but Prime Minister Modi is the first to actually implement their policies.
