He was released on a 15-day leave in 1999 and was absconding since then.
A police investigation revealed that Tayde was hiding in Ulhasnagar with a new name – Dinesh Tayde. He married another woman with whom he has a 15-year-old son. The arrest was made by Anil Mangle, senior police inspector of Ulhasnagar crime unit of Thane police. Mangele said he had received specific information that a man, a resident of Bharat Nagar in Ulhasnagar, is wanted in a murder case in Gujarat. The police laid a trap and took Taide into custody.
Tayde’s first marriage was to a Gujarati woman. In 1995, Tayde was arrested by the Limbayat police station in Gujarat for setting his first wife on fire. He was sentenced to life imprisonment and lodged in Baroda Jail.
