Thane: Hundreds of employees including doctors, ward boys, nurses have been hired by a private agency for contractual hiring. Global Covid Hospital Protests were held in Thane after his services were terminated.
The agency on Tuesday sent notices to the majority of employees informing them of the termination of their services following a drop in caseloads at the facility. At the same time, reduction in remuneration of existing employees was also introduced which angered them.
Meanwhile, the management of the corporation-run hospital assured to look into the issue with the representatives of the employees. BJP leaders Praveen Darekar And MLC Niranjan Davkhare intervened in the matter.
The civic officials claimed that the regular functioning of the hospital was not affected.
