Thane: A gang of pickpockets and mobile thieves from West Bengal was busted who used to go to Mumbai to target railway passengers during the festive season.
Thane Railway PSI Ashok Holkar crime unit Said that the gang led by two gangsters used to hire youths of 24 New Parganas district with the lure of easy money and bring them to Mumbai to commit their crime. Police said they mainly targeted mobile phones and wallets.
The gang busted after the personnel of the crime unit took into custody five people who were moving suspiciously Thane Railway Station on Lakshmi Pujan day (November 4).
