Ulhasnagar: In Ulhasnagar, a case of assault by a police officer has come to light on many youths who were congratulating the New Year.
The youths allege that the police officer was under the influence of alcohol and upon seeing him, at first he tried to hit him with a motorcycle but they managed to escape.
Later the officer started beating them one by one on the road and also abused them.
After the video of the assault went viral on social media Thane Police Ordered an inquiry against Assistant Police Inspector Subhash Pansare, who took law into his own hands.
The incident came to light on Saturday afternoon at 1 pm in Kaushal Nagar area of ​​Ulhasnagar.
According to the police, Pansare was patrolling with the intention of taking action against those who would violate the state government’s order not to celebrate New Year in public places and gather in groups.
After the video went viral on social media, netizens demanded strict action against the cop, saying those responsible for maintaining law and order should be punished for taking law into their own hands.
In view of the controversy, Thane Police’s Zone 4 Deputy Commissioner of Police Prashant Mohite ordered an inquiry against Pansare.
Mohite said, “An inquiry has been ordered against Pansare and action will be taken against him based on the investigation.”
