A moment from FC Goa vs Kerala Blasters match in ISL 2021-22

A surprise goal from Adrian Luna could not ensure a victory for Kerala Blasters FC as FC Goa made a comeback in a thrilling Indian Super League match that ended 2-2 at the Tilak Maidan Stadium here on Sunday.

Jackson Singh (10th) scored for the Blasters, but Luna scored in the 20th minute to take a 2-0 lead. Kerala were on top before FC Goa came back and took a 2-1 lead on a strike by Jorge Ortiz (24th) before Edu Bedia scored from a corner in the 38th minute.

Kerala are now third with 14 points from nine matches while FC Goa are at the ninth position with nine points from nine matches. Kerala’s start was perfect, when Luna put the lead in just 10 minutes after Luna swung into a panoramic corner to go home to Jackson.

This was followed by a yellow shirt and Glenn Martins volleyed from a long just over against the start of the game.

Soon after Kerala went 2-0 up, Luna showed her talent this time. The Uruguayan was placed inside the channel to the left and the 29-year-old cheered, receiving the ball to sink from 30 yards past the keeper. The ball hits the post and goes away leaving no chance to keep Dheeraj Moirangthem out.

Backed twice in rapid succession, FC Goa picked themselves up riding on Ortiz’s strike. The Spaniard received a ball from savior Gama, turned sharply and passed Prabhasukhan Singh Gill, who was beaten on the post near him.

Kerala took a 3-1 lead at the close of the half-time whistle when Sahal Abdul Samad fired a shot over the bar from an Alvaro Vazquez cross. FC Goa equalized with the next attack, and it was Edu Bedia, who joined in an excellent corner curling, which went into leaving Gill high and dry.

A frantic first half ended with both sides level at 2-2. In the second round, both the teams took precautions as the chances were slim and the middle was far away. Edu Bedia’s attempt with a free-kick came much to the dismay of FC Goa as both teams ransacked as the match ended.
