Thalapathy Vijay’s political entry had long been speculated, aided by the humanitarian activities undertaken by his people’s movement Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. After years of speculation, Vijay finally made a grand entry into politics, launching his party named Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam on February 2 this year. However, his political entry has come at a cost. He has also announced his retirement from acting after the last few projects that he has committed to.
This statement came as Vijay was at an all-time career high with the massive success of the Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed film Leo. He is currently filming for Venkat Prabhu’s GOAT and will bid farewell to his acting career with just one more film. Due to this, the curiosity to know about his last film has intensified among the fans. Many names are in speculation in regards to who would direct the last film of Vijay’s career. The names of Vetimaaran and H Vinoth are also included in it. According to reports, TVV Entertainment, which produced RRR, is going to produce this film. In the midst of this, Vijay’s remuneration for his last film is also being discussed these days.
Vijay’s remuneration in the market was Rs 150 crore including GST, according to reports. For GOAT, it reportedly went up to Rs 200 crore, Now speculations are rife that his remuneration for his last film will be Rs 250 crore. Although this is not confirmed yet, it is a huge sum, almost rivalling the budget of a big film, led by an A-lister. Not just that, if the reports of him receiving Rs 250 crores are true, it will also make him the highest-paid actor in India. No actor in India has received such a high remuneration for a single film.
Vijay-starrer GOAT is currently being filmed in Thiruvananthapuram Reports indicate that Vijay will take on dual roles, portraying both a hero and a villain, in the upcoming film. GOAT is rumoured to be a period science fiction film.
