Former India all-rounder Ajit Agarkar lauded caretaker captain Jasprit Bumrah for his superb all-round effort on the second day of the rescheduled fifth Test against England at Edgbaston on Sunday. Bumrah wreaked havoc with the bat and razed England’s top order with the ball to put India in a strong position in the fifth Test at Edgbaston on Saturday.

Ajit Agarkar while speaking on Sony Liv said, “Bumrah and Shami’s partnership in the same series at Lord’s Test helped India win the match. Today Stuart Broad was not great and Jasprit Bumrah took advantage of it. Test cricket at the moment Seems so easy.” ,

Only 38.5 overs could be played on the rain-hit second day and Bumrah dominated it first with the bat and then with the ball. England fast bowler Stuart Broad bowled the costliest over of Test cricket thanks to his brilliant batting, conceding 35 runs in eight balls including a wide and a no-ball.

India’s stand-in captain ruined England’s top-order with a triple strike as the hosts trailed by 84-5, 332 runs and India’s first innings reply was 416 to avoid a follow-on 133 Run was needed.

Bowl well, get heaps of wickets, score runs, be the captain and put India in great shape. But I think it’s his bowling. He bowled at just the right pace. His line and length were impeccable as always,” said Ajit Agarkar.

India lead 2-1 in the series which could not be completed after COVID-19 cases in the India camp before the final match at Old Trafford last year.
