Tesla opens 100th super-charging station in Beijing, adding to it’s growing network – Times of India

On August 30, Tesla opened its 100th EV super-charging station in the city of Beijing, China. The American EV manufacturer now has a total of 890 super-charging piles in China’s capital. This also means that Tesla owners in Beijing can now find charging stations within an average of 15 minutes!
Now, the company has over 1,200 super-charging station in the country, and about 9,000 charging piles. Around 60% of Tesla V3 supercharging piles have the maximum power output of 250 kW, while the rest are V2 charging piles with maximum charging power of 120 kW. Tesla’s network is constantly growing in China – one of the company’s biggest markets. Tesla has been incorporating supercharging stations in the country since 2014.
Talking about the company’s charging network layout, Zhang Lina, the head of Tesla China‘s super-charging network development and operation, said that the main focus for the past eight years was on completing the construction of a charging network framework. Now, the company plans to work on optimizing that very layout.
Moreover, Tesla says that the station density will be optimized within the current framework, while the existing piles at some specific stations will be upgraded to improve their charging efficiency as well.
