A terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Tuesday. He said that after receiving information about the presence of terrorists, the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Surankote area of Poonch.
Officials said the operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated, in which one terrorist was killed. The encounter was going on till the filing of this report and the details are awaited. An army official said that the body of the slain terrorist is yet to be found from the encounter site.
