New Delhi: An unidentified terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jumagund area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Sources gave this information on Saturday.
J&K Police in a tweet said, “An unidentified terrorist killed in an encounter in Jumagund area of Kupwara. The army and police are at work.”
According to Army sources, the terrorist was killed when he tried to infiltrate into Indian territory from across the border, as reported by news agency ANI.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said that a total of 171 terrorists have been killed in the year 2021, out of which 19 were Pakistani terrorists.
Speaking at a press conference here, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said that all those who were involved in the Jewan terror attack, in which three police personnel were also killed and 11 others were injured on December 13, have been has been arrested. To neutralize
“Encounter started last night in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar as we got information that three terrorists involved in Jewan terror attack are hiding. Security forces cordoned off the area. Three police personnel and two CRPF personnel were injured during the firing. However, all those injured are stable,” said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar.
