One terrorist was killed while two security personnel were injured in an overnight encounter when terrorists fired upon a BSF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Officials gave this information on Friday. Two civilians were also injured in the firing, he said.
Kashmir’s Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar said, “So far one terrorist has been killed. A full search of the building (where the militants had taken shelter) is yet to be done.” The IGP had said on Thursday that the two trapped terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

A police officer said, “The terrorists fired at a BSF convoy near Malpora Mir Bazar area of Kulgam on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway at around 3 pm. retaliated.” spokesman said.
He said that the police and army immediately reached and cordoned off the area. “The force party ensured that no chance of escape was given to the terrorists. The terrorists managed to take shelter in a huge building nearby. The hiding terrorists fired indiscriminately at the joint party of police/security forces, Which was retaliated, resulting in an encounter,” he said.
