There was a hand grenade attack on the Nawanshahr CIA staff office in November last year.
Terrorists did a hand grenade attack on the CIA office in Nawanshahr. Which was carried out through Pakistan based terrorist module. It is being run by Harvinder Singh alias Rinda. Punjab Police has arrested 3 of his henchmen. A hand grenade was hurled at the Nawanshahr CIA office on the intervening night of 7-8 November last year. Through this there was a conspiracy to kill the police personnel present there. However, the police personnel present there managed to escape the attack. For this incident, a deal was made between Rinda and Ramandeep for 4 lakhs.
DGP VK Bhavra said that the arrested terrorists have been identified as Manish Kumar alias Mani alias Baba resident of village Bains district Nawanshahr, Ramandeep Singh alias Jakkhu resident of village Atta Gorayan district Jalandhar and Pradeep Singh alias Bhatti resident of Sahalon, SBS Nagar. A hand grenade was also recovered from them.
Hand grenades were picked up from Ludhiana-Firozpur road
The DGP said that during the interrogation of the police, Ramandeep Jakkhu confessed that he, along with Manish Mani, threw the hand grenade at the Nawanshahr CIA staff office. He had carried out this incident at the behest of Harvinder Rinda. Ramandeep picked up 2 hand grenades from Ludhiana-Firozpur road after Rinda’s information.
Rinda, sitting in Pakistan, is wanted by the Punjab Police in many cases.
Second hand grenade recovered on the spot of Ramandeep Jakkhu
SBS Nagar SSP Sandeep Kumar said that Ramandeep threw a hand grenade at the CIA office while another P-80 hand grenade was recovered from him. It has been recovered on the behest of Ramandeep. The accused are being questioned about where it was to be used.
Wanted Rinda in many cases to the police
According to the police, Harvinder Rinda is a history-sheeter. He has been a notorious gangster in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Maharashtra. He is wanted by the Punjab Police in many cases of murder, contract killing, dacoity, ransom and snatching. The police have also named Rinda in this case.
