Terror Module Busted In Punjab’s Tarn Taran, One Arrested With 10 Pistols

Chandigarh: The Punjab Police on Friday said it has busted a module linked to wanted terrorists Lakhbir Singh alias Landa and Satbir, also known as Satta, following the arrest of one of their operatives in Tarn Taran. Punjab’s Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said that the operative Gurbej Singh was arrested on the basis of credible inputs that he would be going to a place fixed by Landa and Satta to retrieve weapons. Police teams from Tarn Taran caught him by laying a trap.


“Gurbhej Singh has a criminal background and was recently released from Goindwal Sahib Central Jail,” he said in an official statement.

Tarn Taran Senior Superintendent of Police Gurmeet Singh Chauhan said that Gurbej Bheja, along with one of his associates, Sukhdeep Singh alias Sukh, who is currently lodged in Central Jail Goindwal Sahib, conspired to obtain firearms and carry out criminal activities including Was composed the killing.

He said as per preliminary investigation, Bheja was in need of money and was lured by the gangsters to work for him.



The police have registered an FIR in this regard under various sections of the IPC and the Arms Act. Sukhdeep Singh, Lakhbir Singh, Satnam Singh and Yadwinder Singh and Baghi Singh are also named in the FIR, Yadav said.
