Ten farmers honored for innovation in farming Kanpur News – Times of India

Jhansi. Ten farmers including two women were honored during ‘Kisan Samman Diwas’ organized in Rani Laxmibai Central Tributes to former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh on his birth anniversary at Agricultural University Jhansi on Thursday.
Farmers from different districts of the region have done innovative work to improve the growth of pulses, fruits, vegetables, medicinal plants and cereals. Among those honored were two women farmers from Lalitpur and Jhansi who improved the growth of pulses and medicinal plants with the help of innovations.
Vice Chancellor Arvind Kumar, who presided over the program and felicitated the farmers, said that innovation is the key to success and will help Bundelkhand farmers to earn name and prosperity in farming. He also assured that his university is constantly working on new research and is ready to help with the latest technology.
On the other hand, a traditional Bundeli cuisine competition on Ayurvedic importance was organized by the Central Ayurvedic Research Institute in its premises to celebrate this day, in which 23 people participated.
Essay competition on health lifestyle was also organized. The chief guests of the event were city MLA Ravi Sharma along with socialites Niti Shastri and Mukund Mehrotra who judged the winners.
Speaking to TOI, Research Officer Dr Chandrashekhar Jagtap said that the objective of the event was to promote healthy eating habits in the society and create awareness for the useful medicinal values ​​of various food ingredients under Ayurveda.
