Temperature drops to 23.6 degree Celsius in Delhi, possibility of moderate rain today

New Delhi: The minimum temperature in Delhi on Monday fell to 23.6 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal. The relative humidity stood at 77 per cent at 8.30 am. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a generally cloudy sky during the day with light to moderate rain and thundershowers gusting to 30-40 kmph.

The maximum temperature of the city is likely to be around 32 degree Celsius.

The IMD said the maximum temperature in the national capital on Sunday was recorded at 30.7 degrees Celsius, eight notches below the season’s normal and the lowest since June 17, 2014.

The Meteorological Office had said on Friday that Delhi is likely to receive fairly widespread rainfall over the next four days under the influence of a western disturbance over the middle troposphere level and southwesterly winds from the Arabian Sea at the lower troposphere levels.

It issued a ‘yellow’ alert for four days starting Saturday, warning of thunderstorms or light rain.
