Telugu film industry to resume shootings from September 1 | Hyderabad News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: Shootings in the Telugu film industry will resume from September 1. All shootings were suspended from August 1 voluntarily by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce in an attempt to thrash out all issues that had become a concern for the growth of the film industry.
Producers will be granted special permission by the producers council and a committee of the film chamber if they would like to resume shootings immediately if there is an urgency.
An important decision that has been taken is that the prices of eatables in canteens in theatres and more particularly multiplexes should not be exorbitant. There will be a two-slab system for pricing of eatables. The exhibitors have been asked to keep the prices reasonable and only when big budget films are released, they can be marginally hiked. The modalities for this are being worked out.
Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce president K Basi Reddy said everyday meetings were held for eight to 10 hours with all sectors of the film industry to come to an understanding on different matters. He said there were some more matters to be discussed with a few more crafts of the film employees federation and these matters would also be sorted out in the next three days or so.
Active Telugu Film Producers Guild president Dil Raju said a meeting was also held with managers of actors and it was conveyed to them about the arrangements for smooth functioning of the film industry. Without giving out specific details, Dil Raju said on August 30, all decisions will be informed at a press conference that would be conducted.
“We would like to make it abundantly clear that the Telugu film industry’s supreme body is the film chamber and its decisions are final,” producer C Kalyan said.
