There have been rumours about creative disagreements arising between director Naveen Medaram and the producer during the initial weeks of filming. As a result, Naveen Medaram made an unexpected departure from the project. Abhishek Nama then stepped in as a replacement. Interestingly, the initial posters did not mention Abhishek’s name. But in the poster released yesterday, it was explicitly mentioned that Abhishek Nama is now serving as both the producer and director of the film.

Naveen Medaram subtly addressed the ongoing controversy recently by sharing the Sanskrit adage ‘Vinashakale Vipareethi Buddhi’ on his Instagram story. This phrase means when one’s doom approaches, his or her mind thinks the opposite of what it should. This has sparked more conversations on the internet. Naveen didn’t directly mention anything about the film, it’s clear that his post is directed at Abhishek Nama. With Devil set for release on November 24, it will be interesting to see if the producer or the cast addresses this controversy during the film’s promotional activities or pre-release events.
