Hyderabad: Former Telangana minister and BJP candidate for Huzurabad bypoll, Eatala Rajender, was booked on Monday for violating election norms imposed by the State Election Commission. Reportedly, Rajendra participated in an election campaign in Huzurabad on Monday, and taking to his Twitter handle, the BJP leader said that the people of Huzurabad welcomed him wholeheartedly.
Meanwhile, the flying squad of the Election Commission has filed a complaint against Eatala for violating Covid norms.
Election campaigning took place in many wards of Huzurabad town.
Heartfelt thanks to all the people who extended their warm welcome and support with thick sandals, kolat dance and mangla haratu.#huzurabadwithBJP #vote for change #voteforlotus #huzurabadbypol #BJP4Huzurabad #BJP pic.twitter.com/iF4wtVGRdP

SEC removes Rajendra’s name from nomination list
Meanwhile, the Election Commission rejected the names of Eatala Rajender as three other nominations were filed in the name of ‘Rajendra, E’. The reason the Election Commission has removed these names is that they will confuse voters and create chaos. Of the 61 nominations filed in the Huzurabad bypoll, only 42 are valid as 19 nominations have been rejected by the Election Commission. For the Huzurabad bypoll, the main candidates of the party are Gelu Srinivas from TRS, Eatala from BJP and Balamoor Venkat from Congress.
BJP alleges that TRS leaders filed nominations to mislead voters. According to a report in The New Indian Express, Karimnagar Police Commissioner V Satyanarayana said that they have deployed police personnel to increase vigil in the Huzurabad constituency. Another reason for tightening security was the threat from Maoists, as pointed out by the Karimnagar Police Commissioner a few days ago.
