Telangana HC Allows Student, Named In Paper Leak Case, to Write TS SSC Supplementary Exams

The Telangana High Court has given relief to a Secondary School Certificate (SSC) student from Warangal, who was debarred from appearing in two Class 10 board exams on the allegation of a question paper leak. On May 11, the Telangana High Court allowed the student to appear for the Class 10 supplementary exams, which are scheduled to be held in June this year. The court further directed the SSC board to recover the supplementary examination fee from the student.

As per reports, Justice Mummineni Sudheer Kumar of the Telangana High Court ordered the Director of Government Examinations and the Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent of Class 10 examination of the Kamlapur Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) to pay for the examination to the candidate. On 4th April, the student was giving Hindi paper as part of his SSC exam. Allegedly an unknown person entered the examination hall at Kamlapur ZPHS and forcibly took photographs of the question paper of the candidate and fled.

When the student reached the exam hall to appear for the English paper on April 6, the officials present there confiscated his admit card and did not allow him to take the exam. Reports said that the invigilators accused him of being involved in the leak of the Hindi question paper. The student was also not allowed to appear in the examination held on April 8.

Worried about not appearing in the annual exams this year – the student’s father moved the Telangana High Court. After hearing the counsel for the petitioner, Justice Sudhir Kumar allowed the student to appear for the rest of the papers. When the student was marked for ‘misconduct’, after the Telangana 10th Board results were released, his father appeared in the court once again and allowed his child to appear for the supplementary exams. The court directed the Telangana Education Board to collect the examination fee from the student. The next hearing in this matter will be on June 5.

The Telangana Board recently announced that the SSC Advanced Supplementary Exams will be conducted from June 14 to June 22. Board of Secondary Education, Telangana on 10 May TS SSC Result 2023 declared, The overall pass percentage this year has been 86.60 per cent.
