Telangana Congress demands separate law to deal with hate speech cases – Henry Club

Expressing serious concern over the rise in incidents of hate speech in the state, former minister and former Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohd Ali Shabbir said: “A separate law to deal with cases of hate speech with a provision for immediate arrest. . Should be. and quick testing. The cases of hate speech are increasing due to lack of proper and timely action against the culprits. BJP and some Sangh Parivar leaders are repeatedly hurting the religious sentiments of other communities.

The Congress leader alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government was supporting communal elements by not taking action against them. He alleged that TRS, BJP and AIMIM have hatched a conspiracy to spoil the atmosphere in Telangana. “A simple analysis of recent statements by BJP, AIMIM and TRS leaders reveals a pattern to polarize society and distract people from real issues,” he said.

Shabbir said that if the TRS government was not a party to the BJP-AIMIM game plan to communalise the situation in Telangana, it should take action against those behind the recent hate speeches. He said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his last visit to Hyderabad had announced that if the BJP comes to power in the state, it will abolish 4 per cent quota in jobs and education for Muslims. “Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay must have made more than a dozen provocative statements against the Muslim community, Urdu language and other issues in the recent past. But no action was taken against him.”

Claiming that there is a secret alliance between the TRS and the BJP, Shabbir sought to know why Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao did not react to Shah’s threat to remove the quota for Muslims. “By his silence, KCR has supported Shah’s views,” said Shabbir.

He said the CM’s son, minister KT Rama Rao (KTR), “makes a lot of ruckus on Twitter”, but does nothing on the ground.
