The chief minister alleged that it was the Center which refused to buy paddy from farmers, though the state was setting up centers to buy the commodity from farmers.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday hit out at the BJP and said he would cut off their tongue if they did not refrain from using abusive language to criticize them.

Taking a jibe at Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay, Rao told a press conference on Sunday that leaders of the saffron party were resorting to cheap talk and seeking political benefits from farmers.

The chief minister alleged that it was the Center which refused to buy paddy from farmers, though the state was setting up centers to buy the commodity from farmers.

“TRS is the biggest party with the most representatives in the state. Till now we have tolerated your comments in the form of dog barking. From now on if you talk nonsense, use absurd words, we are against you. Will take legal action and question you. Roads. We will bite your tongue if you continue to talk nonsense, be careful,” warned Rao.

The ruling TRS and the opposition BJP are leveling allegations and counter allegations against each other over the purchase of paddy. Challenging the BJP leader to get orders from the Center on the purchase of paddy from Telangana, the Chief Minister said his party was giving issue-based support to the Centre.

“The same BJP leader resorted to shoddy talk against me. He even said that he has a strategy to send KCR to jail. He made such remarks in public. Can you send me to jail? Can you send KCR to jail? Can you touch me too? You touch me. And look…,” said Rao. Rao further alleged that the BJP would try to raise communal sentiments or issues of international border at every opportunity.

Reacting to the CM’s comments, Bandi Sanjay said in a press conference on Monday that there are letters from the Center that he will buy paddy from farmers. The BJP leader also alleged that the chief minister blatantly lied that the state government never increased VAT on petrol and diesel in the last seven years, though it issued orders to increase the tax in 2015.

Describing the various central funds to the state, Sanjay wanted to know what Rao did for the farmers. He further claimed that Telangana had opposed bringing petroleum products under the purview of GST.

‘BJP opposes everyone as ‘anti-national’

Rao claimed that the BJP termed everyone who sought answers to certain questions from the Center as “anti-national”. Speaking to reporters, Rao asked the BJP whether it would also call Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik and its MP Varun Gandhi “anti-national” for their remarks.

“Whoever asks for answers, they are being branded as anti-nationals. This is BJP’s style. They keep two or three tickets ready. One is anti-national ticket, and the other is Urban Naxal ticket…”

“Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik also spoke out against agricultural laws. BJP MP Varun Gandhi also expressed solidarity with farmers (in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident) and to withdraw the new agricultural laws. Is he also anti-national? What Is the Governor of Meghalaya also anti-national? KCR inquired.

Rao was reacting to Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay’s statement that KCR was “anti-national” and “supported” China on border issues. They also demanded Rao’s resignation.

“Yesterday I said that China is trying to encroach on our land. So you will call me anti-national? A person who according to reports says China is encroaching on our land, must be anti-national Goes?” Rao added.
