Telangana CM KCR to Inaugurate Party’s Office in Delhi

In an official statement, the BRS said KCR would unfurl the party flag and formally sit in the party president’s office at Sardar Patel Marg, a prominent place in the national capital.

Aiming to play a bigger role in national politics, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) will inaugurate the office of his party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in New Delhi on Wednesday.

In an official statement, the BRS said Rao would unfurl the party flag and formally sit in the party president’s office at Sardar Patel Marg, a prominent place in the national capital.

BRS MP Ranjith Reddy said, “With the inauguration of the party office in the national capital, the party begins its journey as a national political party under the leadership of KCR and will expand its footprint across the country.” Rao founded the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in April 2001. , with a single-point agenda of creating a separate Telangana state with Hyderabad as its capital. His party came to power in 2014 and Rao became the first chief minister of Telangana.

Twenty-one years after its formation, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has officially transformed into Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Rao has been touting national ambitions since 2018 to provide an alternative to both the BJP and the Congress.

He is meeting several regional leaders and chief ministers, including his Bihar counterpart and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar, Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK supremo MK Stalin and many others to forge a united front of opposition parties.
