Tejashwi Yadav slams Centre over BBC I-T survey, says ‘BJP wants to make India a country of Nathuram Godse’

bbc income tax surveyBihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Friday (February 17) hit out at the Center over the survey in BBC offices and alleged that the BJP was misusing central agencies and also trying to make India a country of Nathuram Godse. The RJD leader alleged that the Center wanted to send a message that whoever spoke against the government would be dealt with.

He said, “They (BJP) are misusing central agencies. They want to send a message that those who speak against them or tell the truth will be dealt with. You all know what happened with BBC. Everyone knows That’s what happened in Gujarat. They want.” While addressing a program, Tejashwi said, make Mahatma Gandhi’s country Nathuram Godse’s country. They talk of Hindu Rashtra. But our diversity is our beauty.

IT officials surveilled the UK-based broadcaster’s offices over allegations of willful non-compliance with Indian laws, including transfer pricing rules and illegal diversion of profits.

Earlier, holding the central government responsible for the nearly 60-hour-long IT survey, JD(U) leader Sunil Singh said the operation was a part of vendetta politics. CBI and ED are working for political vendetta.”

He said, “BBC is a press, and the press is the fourth pillar of democracy. This operation is an attack on democracy and the central government is responsible for it.” The KG route concluded on Thursday night.
