Teenager dies in Srinagar grenade blast – Kashmir Reader

Srinagar: A 19-year-old girl, who was injured in a grenade attack in Srinagar on Sunday afternoon, died at SMHS Hospital on Monday.
An official said that Rafia, daughter of Nazir Ahmed of Hazratbal, Srinagar, died in the SHMS on Monday morning.
Medical superintendent SMHS Dr Kanwaljit Singh said, “He died at around 8 am.”
He had sustained multiple injuries in the blast at busy Amira Kadal on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased had passed the 12th examination and had secured 478 marks in the examination.
The report said that when his body reached home and hundreds of people attended his last rites, there was mourning in the area.
Earlier, Mohammad Aslam Makhdoomi (70), an elderly resident of Nowhatta Srinagar’s Makhdoom Sahib area, was killed in the blast while 24 others were injured.
The blast took place when the area was crowded with shopkeepers who had thronged the Sunday market throughout the week.
A senior police officer said that the police took several people into custody for questioning in connection with the blast on Sunday evening.
