Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s (DMRC) Blue Line, which connects Delhi’s Dwarka with Electronic City in Noida, was halted for about 40 minutes on Thursday due to a technical snag. Services resumed soon thereafter.
Due to disruption in services, passengers had to wait for forty minutes at Yamuna Bank and Rajiv Chowk stations before the trains started running back. Metro staff refused to divulge the details of the glitch and were unwilling to speak to commuters.
Unlike August 31, when DMRC through its Twitter account informed about a minor technical glitch and halt in Red Line services, there was no advance notice about Thursday’s disruption in Metro services.
The metro has been witnessing a surge in the number of commuters for the past few days after the Delhi government lifted the Covid-induced restrictions amid a drop in the daily coronavirus case count.
