‘Team unity is a good sign’: Rohit Sharma says Mumbai Indians ‘will come back stronger’ in IPL 2022

The most successful franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) had the worst Indian Premier League (IPL) season this year. They became the first team to be dropped after 8 straight losses. Although they returned to winning ways at the end of the season, they lacked consistency throughout the tournament.

With 10 losses and 4 wins, MI finished IPL Bottom of the table in 2022. It was indeed the most frightening season so far for the 5-time champions but skipper Rohit Sharma believes that unity among teammates will help the team come back strong next year.

Speaking with Zee News, Rohit said that Mi Unit wants to learn and reflect positively with better performance in 2023.

“It was an unpredictable season but we want to learn and reflect on the positive. It was great to see how the team sticks together and supports each other. Now it’s about how we look at the next season.” And how do we prepare. We managed to finish at a high level and that was important for us. We are going to come back stronger,” Rohit Sharma was quoted as saying by Zee News.

“Team unity is a good sign. I haven’t seen any of them lose. We stayed together as a family. They were trying to give their best in training and I am proud of that. The camaraderie in the team was great. We had a goal and everyone was working on it.”

Mumbai may have failed to live up to the expectations as a team, but there were some individuals who made an impact with their impressive innings. Players like Devald Brevis and Tilak had a great season and Rohit believes that they are going to be the superstars of the future.

“Some of them are going to be gun players in the future. He put his hand up and giving his best was the happiest part of the season,” said Rohit.

The MI skipper himself had a tough season on hand.
