Coimbatore: Arrested by rural police thammapathy On Monday, a resident of a tribal settlement and her lover killed their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter on Saturday.
Police have identified the victim as 20-year-old Sarojini’s daughter Nivanyashree and P Manikandan. Sarojini She was living with her parents after a fight with Manikandan. His parents disturbed the peace and brought him to Manikandan’s house last Friday. Saturday morning, Manikandan left for work. After getting information that his daughter has been taken away Vettakaran Government Hospital, he reached the hospital. Sarojini told him that she found the girl unconscious and immediately took her to the hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Police suspected foul play and registered a case under section 174 CrPC (unnatural death). “Sarojini made contradictory statements. When we asked her about her relationship with 27-year-old P Bomman Sarkarpati Adivasi Compromise, he confessed to the crime. A police officer said he found the girl hindering their illicit relationship and strangled her to death.
Sarojini was booked under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code and Bomman under section 109. Both have been sent to judicial custody. Bomman was lodged in Avinashi sub-jail and Sarojini was lodged in a special prison for women in Coimbatore.
