Tamil Nadu rural body elections will be held in 9 districts on October 6 and 9

The Tamil Nadu Election Commission on Monday, September 13 announced that elections to rural bodies in nine newly formed districts would be held on October 6 and 9.

State Election Commissioner, V Palanikumar made the announcement on Monday evening and said that polling will be held in two phases in nine districts, namely Chengalpattu, Kallakurichi, Ranipet, Villupuram, Vellore, Kancheepuram, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli and Tirupathur. Polling will be held on October 6 and 9 between 7 am and 6 pm.

According to the Election Commission’s report, the process of filing nominations will start from September 15 and will end on September 22. Apart from this, the scrutiny of nominations will be done on 23 September. And 25th September will be the last date for withdrawal of nominations.
