Tamil Nadu reports 1,957 new cases, 28 deaths. Coimbatore News – Times of India

CHENNAI: After a hike of four days, there was a decline in fresh cases on Monday, when Tamil Nadu reported1,957 Compared to 1,990 cases on Sunday and 1,986 on Saturday.
Yet at least 14 districts, including Chennai, reported an increase in new cases compared to Sunday. At the end of the day 20,385 people were still under treatment for the viral infection.
The cumulative case count touched 25.63 lakh and the death toll reached 34,130, including 28 deaths, the registry counted on Monday.
While the cases in Chennai rose to 189 as compared to 175 on Sunday, Coimbatore continued to lead the chart with 219 cases. The western district reported 230 cases on Sunday.
Barring Coimbatore, all other districts reported less than 200 cases. Erode (168). On Monday, 3.2 lakh people took the vaccine to take the dosage tally to 2.18 crore in the government sector. Private hospitals have offered 15.80 lakh doses since May 1.
