two-factor authentication (2FA) serves as an additional layer of security to prevent unauthorized account sign-in. Google has encouraged its users to adopt 2FA for their Google accounts. Now, it’s reportedly made chrome for android Browser as a 2FA security key for Google Account sign-in.
According to a report by 9to5Google, Chrome 93 for Android beta is in development. It says that the beta update prompts users when someone tries to sign in to the same Google account on a nearby device.
Once a user enters the email ID and password on the laptop, Google will send them an instant message “Are you trying to sign in?” Notification. It opens a full screen page with “yes” and “no, it’s not me” at the bottom. “Someone is trying to sign into your account from a device near you”, it says.
After you confirm sign-in, you’ll be taken to a “Connecting to your device” page with a rotating animation.
