Trichy : Minister of Municipal Administration, Urban and Water Supply KN Nehru A review meeting was held on Sunday to ascertain the progress of projects under Smart Cities Mission and other infrastructure proposals made by Trichy Corporation.
Corporation sources said the discussions focused on proposals for new infrastructure in the city.
The Minister was apprised about the redevelopment plan of Kollanakulam Tank at E Pudur as a leisure spot.
The civic body has prepared a proposal to store excess rainwater in 47-acre tanks and develop dams as leisure sites.
The minister was also apprised about the plan to convert the abandoned stone mines into Karumandapam and Periyamilguparai as a common storage tank for storing rainwater.
