Tamil Nadu launches auto ambulance to transport COVID-19 patients

Udhagamandalam: Tamil Nadu Forest Minister K Ramachandran on Saturday flagged off six auto ambulances at the Nilgiris in the Nilgiris district to transport Covid-19 patients.

“Being a hilly district, the roads and roads were too narrow for the movement of big ambulances, so auto ambulances were started,” the forest minister said.

Appreciating the efforts of MK Stalin in facilitating the medical infrastructure with the required number of beds, medical oxygen and other equipment, Ramachandran said at a function that the efforts of the CM have started reducing the number of COVID cases in the state. The lockdown is being eased and steps are being taken to prevent the third wave of Kovid.

District Collector J Innocent Divya and other senior district officers were also present on the occasion.
