Kabul: Taliban say Russian investors have expressed willingness to withdraw AfghanistanDuring a meeting with a top leader of the country of Petroleum and Gas, local media reported.
Russian investors meet with Abdul Salam, deputy prime minister of the Taliban in the interim government Hanafi on Sunday and discussed several economic projects, including refining and exploration of gas and petroleum, reported Khama Press Taliban spokesman zabiullah mujahidi as saying.
The spokesman also said that Hanafi met with Afghan businessmen and investors from Russian investors in his office and discussed setting up a cement factory, separate LNG plants, in addition to refining and extraction of oil and gas in the country.
According to Khama Press, the Mujahid further reported that Hanafi appreciated and welcomed the desire of Russian investors to extract the country’s gas and oil.
The Taliban leader also assured investors of providing a conducive environment for further investment in the country.
This comes as the Taliban are facing pressure in many areas due to lack of funds as they await the release of huge funds by global organizations and the recognition of the government.
