Taliban: Recognize us if you don’t want any threat: Taliban – Times of India

Kabul : Taliban has warned the international community that the world must recognize the organization if they do not wish to receive any threat from afghanistan.
Speaking at a news conference on Saturday, Taliban spokesman zabiullah mujahidi Said he should be recognized as a responsible party, Khama Press news agency reported.
Two months have passed since this organization occupied Afghanistan. Apart from a handful of countries including Pakistan and China, no other country has shown any keenness to increase engagement with the Taliban.
The rest of the international community is watching the rights situation in the country and focusing on mitigating the humanitarian crisis in the country.
In a statement that appeared as a possible warning, the Mujahid said the Taliban would take no responsibility to avert threats from other countries unless they were recognized by the international community. He said recognition is a bilateral requirement.
“We fought the US because they did not recognize us in the past. If the Taliban is not recognized, it will only increase problems in Afghanistan, the region and the world,” Mujahid said.
He further claimed that the Taliban had fulfilled all the pre-conditions for his recognition and that the world would recognize him “somehow”.
Mujahid also asked all countries to activate their Diplomatic Mission in Afghanistan.
Taliban diplomats have started working amid questions being raised over the recognition of the Islamic Emirate Afghanistan’s missions in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the European Union is also seeking to reopen its diplomatic mission in Afghanistan in months’ time as the bloc seeks to increase its engagement with the new Taliban government.
UK-based newspaper Financial Times (FT) reported that the 27-member bloc will withdraw to the capital of Kabul as Brussels seeks to coordinate aid efforts and the continued evacuation of some Afghans.
