Takeshi’s Castle to be rebooted

There’s an exciting update for fans of the Japanese game show Takeshi’s Castle, where hundreds of contestants take on a variety of mindless physical challenges. The show was broadcast in nearly 150 countries and had dozens of local versions. An iconic series that will keep us all hooked to our TV screens is going to be back with a new edition as per the latest reports.

The first episode of Takeshi’s Castle, hosted by Takeshi, aired in 1986. It brought a development in the entertainment industry with its one of a kind format. The series closed in 1990. But surprisingly for us, 75-year-old Takeshi is ready to return to his palace and start the series once again. The show is being rebooted on Prime Videos. Allegedly, under the title of Fukatsu! Fun! Takeshi-j, or “Return to Takeshi’s Castle.” The streaming site has a slate of new Japanese originals that they are set to stream and Takeshi’s Castle is one of them.

As the talk of Takeshi’s Castle return is high on social media platforms, fans can’t keep calm. Netizens took to Twitter and shared their excitement about the same.
