Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest running shows on Indian TV. Even though it has managed to tickle the funny bone of the audience, the story behind the scenes of India’s most loved soap opera is rather questionable. Over the years, several actors have left the show due to various reasons and those who replaced them have not lived up to the expectations of the audience. Now, it has been alleged that Shailesh Lodha, who quit the show in May last year after playing the role of Taarak Mehta for over a decade, owes lakhs of rupees.
Why Shailesh Lodha quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah?
While Shailesh Lodha quietly quit TMKOC last year and started hosting Wah Bhai Wah on Shemaroo TV, the real reason behind bidding goodbye to the comedy show has come to the fore. According to a report in Hindustan Times, Shailesh and the show runner had a rift and he left the show without giving any notice. A source was quoted as saying in the matter, “He (Shailesh) felt disrespected and left the show without any notice. He has maintained a dignified silence ever since.”

Shailesh Lodha owes money
Reportedly, there are lakhs of rupees dues which need to be paid by Shailesh Lodha. This serious allegation has been leveled against Asit Kumar Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The source in this matter shared that Shailesh’s payment for more than a year has not been approved by the makers of the show. He shared, “It is almost a six figure amount. He has been waiting for the producers to clear his dues for almost a year. But the producer Asit Kumar Modi is not paying any heed.”
Furthermore, it has been claimed that similar issues were faced by actors Neha Mehta, who played Anjali Mehta and Raj Anadkat, who played Tapu, when they left TMKOC.
