Taapsee’s ‘Dobara’ the only Indian film to be screened at the Fantasy Film Festival

New Delhi: The film directed by Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Dobaara’ is making headlines with every drop of its beat. The film is all set to screen at the Fantasia Film Festival among the main attractions. The new age thriller drama is the only Indian film to be screened at the world’s largest genre film festival, among many other Korean, Spanish and Japanese films to be screened at the world’s largest genre film festival.

The Fantasia International Film Festival will celebrate its 26th anniversary in Montreal this summer, taking place from July 14 to August 3, with its Frontier International Co-Production Market held July 21 to 24.

Earlier, ‘Dobaara’ was screened for the first time at the London Film Festival 2022 and with its concept the film was highly appreciated among the global audience. The screening was attended by the star team- Anurag Kashyap, Taapsee Pannu, and Pavail Gulati among many others.

Based on the Spanish film ‘Miraj’, the film stars Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati in the lead roles. It is scheduled to release worldwide on August 19, 2022.

In February 2021, both Taapsee and Anurag took to social media to share an announcement video for the film. Sharing the video, he wrote, “Time. Space. Universe. 2021 will make you question everything. Filming begins soon! @anuragkashyap Time to add some light and color to your frame again, let’s make it # Do DOBAARAA.”

Anurag wrote, “Watch what happens as you time travel across the dimensions of the universe. Filming begins soon! #Dobaaraa.”


‘Dobaara’ is directed by acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap and produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta R Kapoor (Cult Movies, A New Wing under Balaji Telefilms) and Sunir Khetarpal and Gaurav Bose (Athena).

This is the second time that Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap have worked together after ‘Manmarziyaan’.
