Taapsee Pannu’s Rashmi Rocket will be OTT release on October 15, actor shares new poster

Taapsee Pannu starrer Rashmi Rocket is all set to release on Zee5 on October 15, the actress announced today via a social media post. The actress will be seen playing the role of a small-town athlete who aspires to win on the international stage. Rashmi Rocket also stars Priyanshu Painyuli, Abhishek Banerjee, Shweta Tripathi and Supriya Pathak. Taapsee shared a poster of the film on Instagram and wrote, “Get ready to run on and off the track with Rashmi in this race. He will need you in this ️🚀

#RashmiRocket ready to fly on 15th October 2021 only on @Zee5.”

The actress had to undergo rigorous physical training to play this character. Directed by Akarsh Khurana and produced by RSVP, the shooting of the film began in November last year and was completed in January 2021.

The makers were hoping for things to return to normal after the pandemic. However, with no light at the end of the tunnel regarding theatrical business, the team has taken the difficult decision of releasing the film directly on the digital medium.

Rashmi Rocket will release on ZEE5 on Dussehra, the same day as Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham Singh, which is scheduled to premiere directly on Amazon Prime Video during the same weekend.

Last month, cinemas across the country started to have 50 per cent seating capacity and adhere to other SOPs. Since then, some big releases including Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom, Amitabh Bachchan’s Chehre, and Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi have been released in theatres, but none of the films have managed to do big business. Maharashtra, which contributes nearly 30 per cent to the box office, is still locked down, with many filmmakers now having second thoughts about releasing their films on the big screen.
