“A strong investor told me that if Pakistan beat India in the upcoming T20 World Cup, a blank check is ready for the PCB,” he said.
Last month, New Zealand decided to call off the tour against Pakistan following a security alert by the New Zealand government. The PCB chairman said the teams would not shy away from touring Pakistan if the board had strong financial backing.
“If our cricket economy is strong, we will not be used and then we will not be taken over by teams like England and New Zealand,” he said. “The best cricket team and the best cricket economy are the two big challenges,” Ramiz said.
India, champions in the inaugural edition played in South Africa in 2007 and the final in 2014, will also have Afghanistan, New Zealand and two qualifiers from Round 1 to participate in Group 2.
