The Bharatpur police on Wednesday arrested a judge, who was earlier suspended after a case was registered for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy. Bharatpur SP Devendra Kumar said the suspended judge was called for questioning and later arrested. “The interrogation and arrest took place as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court,” he said.
Jitendra Singh, posted as a special judge in a court dealing with corruption cases, was suspended by the Rajasthan High Court administration on October 31 after a case was registered against him.
The boy’s mother had lodged an FIR under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act, alleging sodomy. His mother alleged that the special judge and two others were sexually abusing her son for the past one month by intoxicating him. She alleged in her complaint that the accused threatened the boy with dire consequences if he talked about his ordeal, he alleged in his complaint.
The other accused have been identified as Anshul Soni, Steno of the judge and Rahul Katara, another employee of the judge. The victim’s family members also alleged that Anti-Corruption Bureau DSP Parameshwar Lal Yadav had also threatened to kill the boy. Soon after the High Court administration suspended the judge, the Home Department of the Government of Rajasthan suspended the DSP. The judge allegedly befriended the boy at a place where he used to play tennis.
