Sushmita Sen shares excitement as ‘Aarya’ gets 2021 International Emmy Awards nomination

The former Miss Universe shared a picture of the nomination on her Instagram handle. In the caption, an excited Sushmita wrote, “OMGGGGGG!!!! Directed by Ram Madhvani, Sandeep Modi and Vinod Rawat, ‘Arya’, the official remake of the popular Dutch crime-drama ‘Penoza’, received a nomination in the Best Drama Series category, where it will compete with Chile’s ‘El President’. , Israel’s ‘Tehran’ and the British show ‘Late She Goes’.

‘Aarya’, which marks her return to acting after many years, revolves around Arya Sarin (Sushmita), a caring mother and a loving wife. She is quite simple in her approach and is unaware of the illegal business of which her husband is a part. However, things turn bad for their family after Arya’s husband Tej Sarin (Chandrachur Singh), a pharma baron, is mysteriously killed.

The entire drug operation and illegal syndicate demanded the death of his entire family. Seeing this, Arya joins the gang and becomes a mafia queen and takes revenge on those who killed her husband. In the process, she also takes care of her three children. Apart from Sushmita, the series also featured Sikandar Kher, Manish Choudhary, Namit Das, veteran actors Chandrachur Singh and Vinod Rawat in the first season.

The post production of the second season of the show is going on. The winners of the 2021 International Emmy Awards will be announced by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences on November 22 in New York.
