Suryakumar Yadav wants to start from scratch in Sri Lanka

Suryakumar Yadav, who made a name for himself by playing for Mumbai Indians IPL, Sri Lanka will have an entirely new challenge. The 30-year-old had to work really hard to reach here and now is the time to carry on the good performances of all those years as he prepares to play the first ODI against Sri Lanka. When Suryakumar was asked about his journey so far, he said that he has not done much to reach the international level.

Suryakumar Yadav said on Tuesday, “I feel I am doing what I have been doing for my franchise in the IPL. Even in my first series (against England), I didn’t do anything differently. Enjoying that (attacking) role really well in whatever position they ask me to bat in. I’ll be the same. I’ll just go out there and express myself like I always do. Let me do it It’s fun. “

He knows that playing in Sri Lanka will be a new challenge and he will have to do what he has been doing for so many years. Starting every innings from scratch.

“I think it was a completely different challenge. Like a batsman, every time you go in or play a different game, you start from the beginning. So also I have to start from scratch. It’s a different series but the challenge is the same – I have to go out and perform like I did. So there will be pressure because if there’s no pressure, there’s no fun. It will be a big challenge and I really like I’m looking forward to it.”

Asked about former Sri Lanka captain Arjuna Ranatunga’s remark that India had sent their second team, he replied that he did not pay any heed to it.

“Not necessarily [thinking about it],” he said. “Everyone is completely focused. The way the practice sessions are going, the way the game went yesterday, it is going perfectly and we are really excited about the challenge. We are not thinking about it. We’re here just to have some fun, enjoy this series to the fullest and get a lot of positive things out of here.”
