Mumbai: Veteran actress Surekha Sikri breathed her last today (July 16, 2021). The ‘Balika Badhu’ actress passed away at the age of 76 due to cardiac arrest. The National Award-winning actress was unwell for several months and also suffered a brain stroke in 2020.
As the news of the ‘Badhaai Ho’ actress’ death spread, celebrities from both the film and television industry extended their condolences to her family and condoled the demise of such a great artist.
Dia Mirza mourned the loss of Surekha Sikri and wrote, “There is no one like her. Absolutely none. What an extraordinary woman. an excellent artist. Those eyes and that smile his craft will inspire generations of artists. I was lucky to have the chance to see her magic in person.”
Renuka Shahane tweeted, “We have lost our best today. Every time she performed she was excellent. RIP Surekhaji”.
Manoj Bajpayee tweeted, “Very sad news!!! Surekha Sikri ji, one of the greatest talents, passed away leaving behind many great performances in theater and cinema!! She was a treat to watch on stage. Can’t forget some memories of his acting in theatre. Great craft and a beautiful person!! RIP”.

Surekha Sikri was last seen in Zoya Akhtar’s segment of the OTT anthology film ‘Ghost Stories’. He is survived by his son Rahul Sikri.
