The merchant has introduced sarees with photographs of actors from The Kashmir Files.

The Kashmir Files, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, has been the talk of the town ever since it hit the theaters earlier this month. Telling the story of exodus of Kashmiri Pandits during the 1990 insurgency in Kashmir, the film has struck a chord with the masses. However, the makers have also faced allegations of making a propaganda film that distorts facts.

But again, those who are in support of the film are leaving no stone unturned to show their solidarity with the makers. A cloth merchant in Surat, Gujarat has given a unique endorsement of the film.

The merchant has introduced sarees with photographs of actors from The Kashmir Files. Vinod Kumar Surana of Surat has a shop in Abhinandan Textile Market. According to a report in Aaj Tak, Vinod has made only three sarees of this print and plans to launch them soon.

At least 300 colors have been used to print this meter long ‘The Kashmir Files’ saree with digital print. While the market of Surat is known for many attractive sarees for sale, it is attracting everyone’s attention for obvious reasons.

Vinod said that he felt the pain of Kashmiri Pandits after watching the film and wanted to pay tribute in their way. Hence, he got the idea of saree. Just as the government has exempted the film from tax, similarly they plan to sell these sarees without any profit. Vinod had earlier introduced post-surgical strike themed sarees that had Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s imprint on them.
