Due to pollution, two lawyers got overwhelmed by petitioning against the ban on vehicles for 10-15 years. The Supreme Court has imposed a fine of 8 lakhs on both the lawyers. The court said that despite reading all the decisions including the NGT, this petition has been filed, which is an audacity.

The ban was imposed by NGT in 2015.
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) had on April 7, 2015 banned all diesel vehicles older than 10 years from plying on the roads of Delhi-NCR. Later, on July 18 and 20, 2016, it ordered de-registration of 15 to 10 year old diesel vehicles in the national capital in a phased manner.
