Superman Casting Enters Crucial Phase, Top Contenders to Replace Henry Cavill Revealed

David Korenswet, who most recently played the ill-fated projectionist opposite Mia Goth in Pearl, is among the top contenders to play Kent, aka Superman.

Casting for “Superman: Legacy,” the highly anticipated first chapter from DC Studios under the direction of James Gunn and Peter Safran, is entering a critical phase.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the search is on for actors to portray iconic characters like Clark Kent (aka Superman), Lois Lane and Lex Luthor.

“Superman: Legacy” is the first film under the Gunn-Safran regime at DC, which makes the casting process of vital importance.

Superman holds a special place for James Gunn, who sees similarities between himself and the character as an outsider who feels like an alien, but also as the ultimate insider, a superhero status. similar to

David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, has made a significant bet on the superhero strategy, seeing it as DC’s biggest opportunity to create value.

David Korenshwaite, best known for his role in “Pearl,” is considered one of the top contenders for the role of Clark Kent, according to multiple sources cited by The Hollywood Reporter.

Jacob Elordi, who gained recognition for his role as the villain on HBO’s “Euphoria,” is another name that has been floated for the role of Clark Kent.

Several actresses have emerged as contenders in the search for Lois Lane.

Emma Mackey from Netflix’s “Sex Education” and Warner Bros. “Barbie,” Rachel Brosnahan from Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” Phoebe Dynevor from “Bridgerton,” and Samara Weaving, who was last seen in “Scream VI,” are among those being considered.

Notably, some of the above actors were not part of the initial idea.

Nicholas Hoult, best known for his role in “Renfield,” seems to be the clear frontrunner for the Lex Luthor role, according to the report.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. hasn’t commented on the casting process, and insiders tell us the filmmakers and studio haven’t reached a decision yet.
