Udanta was in trouble from the start when Danish Farooq broke him down in the Blasters’ half in the eighth minute. The resulting free-kick, taken by Javi Hernandez, deflected off Victor Mongil’s head and went over the crossbar.

Grayson’s men got off to a good start in the 22nd minute when Hernandez beat his marker before rounding off Krishan. Although the Fijian’s initial effort was saved by Blasters goalkeeper Sachin Suresh, Krishna continued to score from rebounds; Mongil’s attempted clearance resulted in his shot going over the line.

Both teams continued to fight entering the final third, but Bengaluru’s defense ensured that Gurpreet was less busy than the two goalkeepers going into half-time.

In the second match played simultaneously at Manjeri, Roundglass Punjab FC ended the competition on a positive note after beating I-League compatriots Srinidi Deccan 1-0 in their final Group A game.

Hummingthanamwia scored the winning goal for the winners. RGPFC ended the tournament with three points from three matches while SDFC secured four points from their three matches.

RGPFC head coach Staikos Vargatis made two changes to the starting line-up, bringing in Mohamed Salah and Brandon Vanlalremdika in place of Huidrome Naucha Singh and Ajay Chhetri.
